Ashlin is one of the first customers to use our new Archimedes Pulley System installed in our Sunshine Coast Office thanks to the generosity of the Dalwood-Wylie Foundation.
Pulley therapy has been used as part of rehabilitation for many years and you will see them in many medical departments. These frames are an ideal option for limb elevation as well physical therapy exercises.
Ashlin is a long term customer of Montrose and has a Congenital Myopathy, which means she has muscle weakness resulting in falls, fatigue when walking distances, difficulty walking up stairs and weakness in her hands and arms. This means she finds it tough to do her own hair, open jars etc.
To ease the impact on her life, it’s very important for Ashlin to remain physically active so Montrose physio Amanda is currently using the Pulley to work on her quad strength.
Other Montrose Customers on the Coast are also starting to benefit from this valuable piece of therapy equipment.
You can access Montrose Physio, OT and Speech Pathology using TeleTherapy
