PlayAble is a play-based intervention program.

Unlike most therapeutic interventions, PlayAble promotes engagement with you and your child through active participation of parents in a therapeutic setting.

This hands-on involvement in structured play introduces families of children with autism to best practice strategies and will assist you in your journey to support your child to reach their potential.

How does PlayAble work

The program kicks off with an initial assessment that identifies learning objectives for your child over the 40-week playgroup period.

Each term you and your child will meet with a small group of other children/parents for two hours a week. As the parent, you will attend each playgroup and assume the role of expert of your child. A trained Playgroup Queensland therapist/facilitator will involve and consult with you throughout the session to facilitate structured play between you, your child and others in the group.

Who should sign up?

Children 2-5 years’ old who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, global developmental delay or who are in the process of getting a diagnosis.
