Short Term Therapy Service is an opportunity to discuss your immediate goals or concerns with an experienced Montrose therapist and confirm the best course of action. Our therapists can also help introduce you to activities you can do on your own to start working on your goals while you are waiting on regular therapy.
Phone call: Via a phone discussion, the Montrose therapist will gain an understanding of your current situation and recommend the best forms of support.
Assessment: If an assessment is recommended, the therapist will conduct an assessment over one or two sessions to help understand the situation and support needs. A report can also be completed if required.
Therapy sessions: As an alternative or additional service, you may attend a small number of therapy sessions. As a parent or primary carer you will also attend your child’s session so that you can build knowledge of therapy activities you can continue at home.
Follow up phone call or meeting: Following the therapy sessions or assessment, your therapist will discuss their observations and provide recommendations.
Take-home program: You will receive a take-home program, which may include activities, helpful resources and parent guidance to support you until ongoing therapy becomes available.
3-month check-in: The Montrose therapy team will book you in for a one-off follow up session to review progress and make adjustments to your take-home program.
Costs are based on standardised pricing and individual need, and will be advised following the first call. Availability varies depending on your region, please contact us for more information.
