What is Powerchair Football?
Powerchair football is one of the fastest growing sports for electric wheelchair users!
It’s a competitive team sport similar to regular football designed specifically for powerchair users of all abilities. It provides an exciting mix of skills & ability, to provide an extremely challenging, action packed, fast, safe & fun to play competition.

What are the rules?
Powerchair football is played in a gymnasium on a standard-sized basketball court using a powerchair. The ball is an oversized soccer ball, 33cm in diameter. There are four players per team on court at one time, including the goalkeeper, and a match consists of two 20-minute periods.

What equipment do I need?
You need a powerdrive wheelchair and guard rails. We have a limited number of universal plastic guards that can be fitted to your existing powerchair, so that you are able to have a go at the sport and see how much you enjoy it. We do also have a couple of powerchairs for loan.

What does it cost?
As you become more involved in the sport, you may want to consider other options for your wheelchair guard, and it is possible to access funding (including NDIS) to pay for equipment and support to get to games. Membership fee will apply.
