The MontroseAccess Board is offering an annual bursary in memory of Dr Grantley Stable, for the purpose of funding a research project, study tour or other activity which will benefit MontroseAccess clients.
The successful application will demonstrate innovation and creativity, and contribute to the enhancement of knowledge and skill base within the organisation.
Any staff member, client family member, or member of the public may apply for the bursary, which provides a grant of up to $10,000 per annum.

Channel 7 Community Service Announcement
MontroseAccess has launched a new community service announcement with the support of Channel 7.
Presented by Sharyn Ghidella, the CSA features MontroseAccess client and beat boxer extraordinaire Ryan Bayley.
MontroseAccess History Project
MontroseAccess has received a grant from the State Government's Q150 Community Funding Program to commission a history project in celebration of the organisation's diamond anniversary.
The grant will enable MontroseAccess to engage an historian to research and write a book about our 75-year history of supporting young Queenslanders.
Past and present MontroseAccess clients, supporters, neighbours and staff are invited to take part in the project throughout 2008 and 2009. We are specifically seeking:
photographs from all eras (1930s - 2008)
memories and anecdotes
memorabilia.

Additional Services for People With Disabilities
MontroseAccess continues to help people with physical disabilities by providing three new services.
Early Childhood Initiative
The Early Childhood Initiative (0-8years) provides a statewide outreach services to families who have a young child with a physical disability and high support needs, who would not otherwise receive a service. Lifestyle & Leisure Programmes
MontroseAccess Lifestyle and Leisure Programmes for Over 18’s provides young people with physical disabilities the opportunity to learn individual life skills, develop social independence and social networks. To find out more, visit our media release page.
Respite Services
Respite Services for over 18’s provides 24 hour care to young people with physical disabilities. The respite centre operates Monday-Friday at Corinda, Brisbane, with a maximum of four clients at any given time. The respite service provides an opportunity for young people and their carers to have a short break from their usual routine at home. This provides young people with the opportunity to participate in social activities, make new friends and have fun. To find out more, visit our media release page.

Did you know that the original Montrose Home benefitted from the popularity of a British motor car? The Morris cars manufactured in Oxford, England, generated a large fortune for their founder, Lord Nuffield. He was a very generous philanthropist and contributed enough money to build the first new residential wings at Corinda.
